Funkee Babee Mei Tai Instructions

 

To prepare your Mei Tai, hold the unpadded straps out with pocket facing towards you and the rest of sling hanging down

Tie the straps around your waist in a secure double knot

Pick your baby up so he/she is facing towards you

Bring Mei Tai up over your baby.  Legs can be tucked in, or Mei goes up between their legs

With one arm holding your baby use the other to put straps over your shoulders.  To cross straps at the back, hold baby with one arm while using other arm to get the opposite strap.  Bring strap around to front, Now use this arm to hold baby and strap while other hand get second strap.

Once you have both straps crossed at the back pull tight.  At this stage you may want to lift your baby a bit higher

Bring straps forward and tie under babys bottom or back, Alternatively cross under babys bottom and then under babys legs or for younger babies cross over babys back twice before you........

 ........Tie securely at back with double knot.

Do not use this sling while cooking.  Becareful consuming hot food and beverages.  This sling is to assist you with carrying your baby.  Do not carry your baby in this sling while driving.  You do not accept liability for injurys that occur whilst using this sling.  The safety of your child remains your responsibility

  Back Carry

To prepare your Mei Tai hold unpadded straps out behind you with the pocket facing in towards you

Tie straps around your waist tight with a secure double knot

There are many different ways to put your child on your back.  You may want to get someone to help you, or you can use a chair.  You can start with child on your hip and shuffle them around to your back.  You can squat and let them climb up like a piggy back.  You will fnd what is right for you.

Bring straps up one at a time while the other hand holds child. If the child is older get them to hang on around the shoulders or neck

This is a good chance to get them in the position you want.  Pull straps tighter and bump them up higher if you need to.

You can pull straps straight down and back ......

....or cross them

Pull straps straight back over your childs legs and under their bottom.

If the straps are too long, wrap around back under childs legs and tie in the front.  If not tie straps under childs bottom.  Alway tie a secure double knot.
